So, it was time to find some decent safety goggles, having too much sawdust flying in my eyes finally started to get on my nerves. Historically I’ve hated safety goggles because I wear glasses and nothing every fits well, and if it does, I end up having everything fog over on the inside and can’t see, which was more dangerous than not wearing them. My eyeglasses are impact resistant poly-carbonate, and I can attest that they do prevent impacting debris from getting into my eyes, but dust and sawdust etc always seem to find a way around those pretty easy. So I decided to break down and try safety glasses again, and settled on the Uvex Safety Goggles pictured below. They came from Amazon, $14.19.

To be honest, I didn’t expect much for $14.19. However I decided to wear them for an hour and a half last night while I was working on changing out my rip fence. The shop temperature was at about 94 degrees, and even with a fan on, I was sweating like crazy as it wasn’t only hot, it’s very humid also. I was EXTREMELY happy with how the safety googles worked out. They NEVER fogged up, much to my amazement, and since they seal up fairly tight against the face, nothing came into them that distorted my view, no sweat, no blowing dust, nothing. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to buy an extra pair of these to have on hand. Very nice product for the price.
